I can’t believe we are already crafting our way towards Valentines Day – one of my favourite crafty holidays! 2016 feels like it’s already flying by!
Do the words “I’ll find a use for that…” sound familiar? I’m a hoarder (no shame), so these words come out on a regular (as I collect my 13th baby food jar). This week I found some lace offcuts I have been holding onto for no particular reason. Being the creative soul I am, I of course found a use! And with Valentines Day just a few short weeks away, what better way to recycle them, than a pretty water coloured Wall Hanging! A simple and inexpensive gift for your Valentine!
Here is the first of our Valentines Day Crafts!
Stick / Craft stick / Paint Stick
Tape / Glue
Step 1. Cut the lace to your desired size or shape. We opted for a small rectangle, featuring the main design of the lace.
Step 2. Get painting! We found watercolours best for this craft – they absorb quickly into the lace, meaning a toddler could easily do this! Alternatively you could use poster paint or fabric textas. Remember to put paper under your lace as it will bleed through (which leaves an awesome artwork!)!
Step 3. Once the lace is dry, its time to attach the hanger. Wrap the top of the lace over your stick and attach to the back with glue or tape. Then tie yarn to either end & its ready to wrap, gift & hang!
Are you crafting up a storm for your Valentine? Share your ideas with us under the #craftyliving & #craftylivingkids hashtags! Miss4 has sweetly chosen her Pug as her Valentine, however I don’t think he will love the wall hanging as much as her Grandparents will!
